INVITATION TO THE OPEN SEMINAR
ANIMAL LAW: ETHICS-LAW-CONSTITUTIONS
On behalf of the Research Center for Public Policy and Regulatory Governance, we invite you to participate in the open seminar “Animal Law: Ethics-Law-Constitutions”. The event will take place on 2nd May 2019 at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland). It will be held in English without translation.
With keynote speakers:
Diana Fleischman An evolutionary perspective on understanding animal ethics,
Pamela Frasch The American Constitution and Animals: First Amendment Tensions with Animal Protection Principles,
Geeta Shyam How Community Attitudes Can Strengthen Abolitionist Arguments,
Steven Wise The Struggle of the Nonhuman Rights Project to Obtain Legal Rights for Nonhuman Animals.
You are warmly welcome to participate in the seminar with or without a paper. There are no conference fees. In case you are interested in being a speaker please submit an abstract of your conference paper until 15th March 2019. If you prefer to participate as a discussant only please send us a registration info until the same date.
Decision on the submissions will be made until 31th March 2019.
