INVITATION TO THE OPEN SEMINAR

ANIMAL LAW: ETHICS-LAW-CONSTITUTIONS

 

 

 

On behalf of the Research Center for Public Policy and Regulatory Governance, we invite you to participate in the open seminar Animal Law: Ethics-Law-Constitutions. The event will take place on 2nd May 2019 at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland). It will be held in English without translation.

 

With keynote speakers:

  • Diana Fleischman  An evolutionary perspective on understanding animal ethics,

  • Pamela Frasch  The American Constitution and Animals: First Amendment Tensions with Animal Protection Principles,

  • Geeta Shyam  How Community Attitudes Can Strengthen Abolitionist Arguments,

  • Steven Wise  The Struggle of the Nonhuman Rights Project to Obtain Legal Rights for Nonhuman Animals.

 

 

You are warmly welcome to participate in the seminar with or without a paper. There are no conference fees. In case you are interested in being a speaker please submit an abstract of your conference paper until 15th March 2019. If you prefer to participate as a discussant only please send us a registration info until the same date.

 

Decision on the submissions will be made until 31th March 2019.
